Citywide Childcare Cooperative (CCC) will operate as a worker cooperative licensed childcare center in Downtown Anchorage. This unique structure empowers employees by providing workers with a stake in the organization's success and encouraging collaborative decision-making. By fostering a cooperative environment, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive workplace that prioritizes both the well-being of our staff and the quality of care we provide.
The CCC program will support families who live or work in Downtown Anchorage with a phased approach to childcare services.
Phase 1: We will initially focus on providing an out-of-school time program for school-age children whose families live or work near downtown Anchorage. This phase aims to offer a safe, nurturing environment for school-age children during after-school and holiday hours, ensuring they receive the necessary support and engagement while their guardians are at work.
Phase 2: Building on the success of the after-school care program, we will expand our services to include care for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. This phase will establish comprehensive early childhood education and care, catering to the developmental needs of younger children and providing their families with reliable and high-quality childcare options.
